Pete Tong & Heritache Orchestra bring dance classics to live!

Celebrate 20 years of ibiza anthems for the  radio 1 ibiza prom

Radio 1’s Pete Tong – with the help of the Heritage Orchestra and conductor Jules Buckley – recreated some of Ibiza’s most iconic dance anthems last night at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC’s Late Night proms series.

During the two-hour live performance – which you can watch in full via the iPlayer – a packed Royal Albert Hall was treated to spell-binding performances of seminal Ibiza anthems from the last 20 years from the likes of Fatboy Slim, Eric Prydz, Daft Punk and many more.

The Late Night prom series offer a chance to sample alternative music alongside the classical repertoire that is at the core of the Proms concerts.

Diving in with a suitably atmospheric “Right Here, Right Now”, what looked like a 700 piece orchestra beautifully pulled off classics like “One More Time”, “Lola’s Theme” and “Good Life”, to a backdrop of strobe lights that from the look of them had been possibly pinched from Ministry of Sound.
